General information

Kamari Beach (also known as Gerani Beach) is a small, charming shore covered in pebbles and sand, with large rocks protruding from the water. You will find a few sunbeds and umbrellas on the coast, while its rocky seabed makes it ideal for snorkeling.

There are several rooms to let, taverns, and the chapel of Panagia Koumariani, dedicated to the Virgin Mary close to the beach. The most significant sight in the area is the Gerani Cave, one of the most beautiful caves in Crete, which is worth a visit.

To get to the beach, you can take the intercity bus from Rethymno to Chania. Alternatively, you can get there by car, which will take about 15 minutes from Rethymno Town.
