Stone, both on the ground and on facades, predominates in the courtyard of Vosakou monastery, yet the terracotta pots of plump and fragrant oranges, manage to steal the show, wouldn't you say?
Flowers on facades seem to be my weakness; I cannot resist snapping pics of pretty petals weaving their way up to equally charming shutters and balconies, like this beautiful bougainvillea vine, in Rethymno.
The beautiful, arched entry, framed in blocks of stone, leading to the courtyard of Vosakou Monastery, gives visitors a concrete idea of the abbey's architectural character, featuring colourful flowers delicately decorating rough facades.
