Crete Zakros Lassithi: The picturesque village of Zakros is located 106 km west of Agios Nikolaos town, in the wonderful Lassithi Plateau which is a magnificent place favoured by nature and one of the few areas of the Mediterranean to be constantly inhabited despite the fact that it lies at an altitude of more than 800 metres.

Zakros is built on the slopes of Mount Selena, a part of the assembly line of Mount Dikti. It was first inhabited during the 15th century and gets benefited from the wonderful climate of the entire plateau.

Few accommodations can be found in this charming village as well as excellent taverns and traditional cafes. In the surrounding area visitors can admire archaeological searches which have brought to light finds of the Minoan period.
