Sitia belongs to the Lassithi Prefecture, Crete, and it is known for its production of sultaninas, a special grape kind. It celebrates its favourite export every August with traditional Cretan dances in the main square. There are plenty of sultanina-inspired delicacies on the menus of most eateries too, so it's generally a great time to visit.
