Houdetsi Festival 2014

The Houdetsi Festival is taking place from August 7th to 10th this year, marking the 5th year of this fantastic festival. The little village of Houdetsi, located 23km south of Heraklion Town, is organizing once again this 4day celebration of music, dance, traditional food and art that attracted 23,000 people from all over the world in 2013! Considered now one of the largest festivals in Greece, Houdetsi Festival is organized by the Municipal Workshop Labyrinth directed by Ross Daly, the Municipality of Archanes, the Region of Crete and the Cultural Association of Houdetsi.
Events will take place in 5 venues around the village and will include musical concerts with more than 100 musicians from Crete, the rest of Greece and other countries, special music master classes at the Labyrinth, a large crafts market, exhibitions of musical instruments, and more. Admission to all concerts is free. The crafts market opens at 19:00 and concerts start at 21:30. Music and dancing will last until the early morning hours.
