Notes: • There are no direct flights to Heraklion from the US, Canada & Australia.
• A limited number of direct domestic flights are available between other islands of Greece and Heraklion during the summer season, though a popular direct option is to travel to Heraklion by ferry (from the port of Piraeus).

You can fly from Heraklion to other destinations in Greece (and vice versa) with a transit stop at the International Airport of Athens or the Airport of Thessaloniki.

• Via Athens: Fly directly to Athens International Airport and from there, get to Heraklion by plane or by ferry from Piraeus Port.

• Via Thessaloniki: Catch a flight to the city of Thessaloniki and then change flights to reach the airport of Heraklion.

• From Thessaloniki Airport

Direct flights from Thessaloniki to Heraklion (and back) are available all year long, a few times each week. This trip lasts about 1 hour and 10 minutes.
