General information

Makria Ammos is a lovely shore at Kali Limenes Village. It is also known as Armyrikia (Tamarisks) or Dentra (Trees) because of the large number of trees adorning the coast. It is the largest beach in the region, as it is more than 1 kilometer long.

Makria Ammos is covered in gray gravel and boasts deep, azure waters. The beach is not organized, which means you will need to bring your own umbrellas and chairs in order to be comfortable. Nonetheless, you can always benefit from the shade offered by the countless tamarisks on the coast. On the other side of the coast lie two impressive large rocks, Aspros Volakas and Mavros Volakas. The more you move towards the east, the beach gets tranquil and quiet, while on the western side, you will find a few taverns and a hotel belonging to the Vardinogiannis family, one of the wealthiest Greek families who owns several companies across the globe, with its main business interests being oil and shipping.
