Water Taxis in Chania

Located 75 kilometers from Chania Town, in an area surrounded by the imposing White Mountains, the quaint Chora Sfakion is a traditional village on the southern shores of Crete.

Its location makes Sfakia Port a great departure point for other secluded destinations in southern Chania, like Loutro, Sougia, Paleochora, Agia Roumeli and Gavdos. Thus, a small fleet of water taxis runs between these destinations and Sfakia on a daily basis. This is the only way to reach some of these destinations, like the seaside resort of Loutro, the isolated Agia Roumeli village, which lies right at the exit of the Samaria Gorge, and the charming islet of Gavdos.

Water taxis run between May and October, with 1-4 crossings per day, depending on the route. Please bear in mind that water taxis can't carry vehicles.
