The new museum will be built in the former military camp of Hatzidakis in Halepa, a suburb of Chania Town. The architectural study will be made by Theofanis Bobotis. The total surface area of the new museum will be 6,500 sq. m, which will include exhibition rooms and an amphitheatre of 140 seats. The height of the building will be 6 to 8 m, while the rooms will be 15 m wide. The administration offices, storehouses and laboratories will also be housed in this building, while the gift shop and cafeteria will work independently.
