In Crete, Kisamos is also called as Kasteli, a name derived from the period of the Venetian rule, because of the fortress built here by the Venetians. In Greek Kasteli means, Castle-Fortress.
Any road you choose in Crete is just an adventure by itself. While exploring this amazing island, I always choose those green, dirty and less taken ones. Making stops every few minutes can be exhausting but, it is what Crete is all about. At least, to me...
This window, just like gorge of Anidri, is small yet lovely. It is located in the Paleochora region, at the south-west end of the Chania Prefecture. It runs from the village of Anidri to the magnificent twin beaches at Gialiskari, which are separated by a small peninsula thick with junipers.
Music and dance are directly woven into the Cretan psyche and their social-life, from the earliest days to the very present.

This lovey boy was playing in the old part of charming Chania.
The most common animals to be found on Crete these days are domesticated farm animals such as dogs, cats, goats, donkeys, sheep, pigs and chickens. This one was wondering and posing around Balos.
Reaching Balos beach requires an act of pilgrimage, as it is fitting for such a fine landscape. It can be done in a few different ways but, I always choose the ones ''less taken''...
