Attica museums

Information about the Museums in Attica, in Greece but also information about museums in Athens: Most museums in Attica are found in the center of Athens and include many ranges of museums, from archaeological and historical to war and art museums. The National Archaeological Museum and the New Acropolis Museum are among the most popular in Athens.

However, there are many museums in the region of Attica, too, that is in the suburbs of Athens. Within a short distance outside the town of Lavrion, on the southernmost spot of Attica, there is a Mineralogical Museum that depicts the rich soil of the region. In the plain of Mesogia, on the eastern side of Attica, there are many wineries and museums of wine that are open to the public.

Also in the region of Kalamos, 32 km north of Athens, there is the Phaeton Technological Museum that presents impressive technological developments from the 19th century until today. The exhibits include cars of all ages, clocks of various periods and use and items of micro-technology and telecommunications.
