Athens Mikrolimano Harbor

Location: Piraeus

Mikrolimano is a natural port in the area of Piraeus. It is located 3.5 km away from the main ferry port of Piraeus and 10 km from the center of Athens. Its name translates into a small port and is the place where you will feel like you are on an island the most!

Mikrolimano has been used as a port since the ancient years, as the archeological findings in the area indicate. Nowadays it is a lively place with a seafront promenade that attracts many visitors because of the nice sea views. Many restaurants, cafes and bars are found along the coastline, offering entertainment to the visitors.

Mikrolimano is the end of Kastella Hill which sits between Pasalimani and Neo Faliro.
It started to become a pole of attraction in the late 1980s, with its fame culminating in the following decade.

After reaching the heart of Mikrolimano, you will be enchanted by the picturesqueness of the setting; houses amphitheatrically built on the hill of Kastella and anchored boats right next to you.
The ideal time to pay a visit to the marina is early in the afternoon when dusk's colors make the illuminated Mikrolimano look like a postcard.

Reconstruction works started in 2021 to improve accessibility and make Mikrolimano more pleasant to walk around.
Designated parking areas are available for vehicles.

    Beautiful Harbor in Piraeus
Beautiful harbor in Piraeus with lovely little fishing boats, great seafood restaurants along the water, and quaint shops. Very peaceful respite in the middle of a bustling city. I highly recommend this peaceful and relaxing area.
