Location: Piraeus

Also known as Pasalimani, the small natural port of Marina Zeas is located near the main ferry port of Piraeus and 10 km away from Athens city center.

Marina Zeas was named after an ancient type of grain that used to be cultivated in this area during ancient times. The port itself has a long history that dates back to antiquity. It used to be the biggest military port of the state of Athens, but now that the large commercial and passenger port of Piraeus exists, Pasalimani is considered the 2nd largest port in Piraeus.

The current form of the port was shaped in 2004, after reconstruction works that took place on the occasion of the Olympic Games of 2004.
Nowadays, Marika Zeas is the most popular meeting point in the region of Piraeus and a favorite destination for Athenians overall, as it boasts a lively atmosphere thanks to the plethora of restaurants, bars, cafes and shops it has.

This area also offers sightseeing opportunities.
When you find yourself there, make sure to visit the Nautical Museum, the Archaeological Museum of Piraeus and the Municipal Gallery of Piraeus.
