The house of Benizelos family was constructed most likely in the first half of the 18th century. In Athens, it is the oldest house and the last surviving konaki and it is considered to be one of the few examples of such mansions, preserved in southern Greece. It is located in the heart of the historical centre of Athens. It tells the story of Benizelos family and St Philothei, while at the same time describes the habits and the traditions of the Athenian aristocracy before the greek revolution against the Ottoman Empire in 1821. Visitors can enjoy a walk among the building and discover its interactive digital applications.
