In the beautiful and historical quarter of Thissio, in the center of Athens, lies the Museum of Alex Mylona. It opened in March 2004 and was donated to the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art, which is based in Thessaloniki, in 2007.

It exhibits works from the long career of the sculptor Alex Mylona, including her beautiful works on marble, copper, iron, and bronze. The museum also exhibits drawings and paintings in two out of its three levels.
On the first floor, exhibitions of modern Greek and foreign artists are periodically presented, in collaboration with the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art.

The building of the museum is an impressive neoclassical structure built in 1920 by the architect Vasilis Tsagris. It was renovated accordingly so that it allows access to people with mobility limitations.

Last but not least, the building boasts an exceptional terrace, reputed to be one of the most wonderful in Athens, as the visitors can get a perfect view of Lycabettus and the Acropolis.

The museum is open every day except for Mondays.
On Tuesday, Wednesday, and from Friday to Sunday, its opening hours are 11:00-19:00.
On Thursdays, its opening hours are 11:00-22:00
