In the beautiful and historical quarter of Thissio, in the center of Athens, lies the Museum of Alex Mylona. It opened in March 2004 and was donated to the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art, which is based in Thessaloniki, in 2007.

It exhibits works from the long career of the sculptor Alex Mylona, including her beautiful works on marble, copper, iron, and bronze. The museum also exhibits drawings and paintings in two out of its three levels.
On the first floor, exhibitions of modern Greek and foreign artists are periodically presented, in collaboration with the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art.
The building of the museum is an impressive neoclassical structure built in 1920 by the architect Vasilis Tsagris. It was renovated accordingly so that it allows access to people with mobility limitations.
Last but not least, the building boasts an exceptional terrace, reputed to be one of the most wonderful in Athens, as the visitors can get a perfect view of Lycabettus and the Acropolis.
The museum is open every day except for Mondays.
On Tuesday, Wednesday, and from Friday to Sunday, its opening hours are 11:00-19:00.
On Thursdays, its opening hours are 11:00-22:00

There are many ways to reach the Museum of Alex Mylona from any location in Athens.

On foot: As the Museum of Alex Mylona is located in a central area of Athens, it can be easily reached on foot from Monastiraki Square in approximately 5 minutes.
