More than half million visitors

The visitors to the New Acropolis Museum overpassed half a million in number within just two months from the opening of the museum. Till August 26th, the date when exactly two months were completed since the glamorous opening, 523,540 people had visited the museum and 60% were foreigners. In the same period, 409,000 individual people from 108 countries of the world visited the website of the museum.  In view of this great interest, the New Acropolis Museum will start educational seminars in September for students and teachers, while there will be special guidings for students of young age. In late autumn, an exhibition about the great Athenian politician Pericles will take place, having as central exhibit the head statue of Pericles housed in the Pergamon Museum in Berlin.  Moreover, the authorities of the museum work to enrich the building with new rooms for the comfort of visitors. Apart from the doctor's office that already works, a room for taking care babies and young children will open soon in the first floor.
