Delta increases New York-Athens flights

Delta Air Lines is increasing the number of its weekly flights from New York JFK International Airport of Athens El. Venizelos International Airport for summer season 2015, as announced recently by the American air company.

In particular, Delta will increase the flight numbers from five times per week from March 30th, 2015, to daily operations on May 2nd, 2015. Additional flights will also be added from June 2nd, 2015, rising the total number up to 11 flights per week, offering 5,900 weekly seats between Greece and the USA during the peak summer months. All services from Athens will be operated in cooperation with Air France, KLM and Alitalia, the joint venture partners of Delta Air Lines. Flights will be operated with aircrafts Airbus A330-300 and Boeing 767-300.

According to statistics of the Greek Tourism Enterprises Association (SETE), last year (2013) almost 755,000 US tourists visited Greece, a number increased by 35% compared to the previous year.
