Christmas Tree lightened for second time

• Category: News

The Christmas Tree of Athens was lightened for the second time yesterday evening in Syntagma square by the Mayor of Athens, Mr Nikitas Kaklamanis. The first tree was burnt by a group of demonstrators during the last week events. The mayor stressed out that all people who love the city must protect it. He mentioned that the commercial centre of Athens must get lively again and that the Christmas celebrations will be continued all over the town. Along with the lighting of the tree, a chorus was singing Christmas carols and fireworks were thrown in the night sky.
