• Category: News
After the great success of the 48 Hour Film Project last year, this competition will be held again this June. In 2008, more than 111 groups of filmmakers and 2,500 participants transformed Athens into a vast cinema stage and managed to make a film into 48 hours. The films were then viewed by more than 9,000 spectators. The registrations for this year have started and will last till May 25th. The registration fee till May 20th is 135 euros and 175 euros till May 25th.
On June 12th, after drawing lots, filmmakers will be given a theme for their movie, which can range from a romantic comedy to Western movies. Then, the participants will have to write the script, make costumes, do the shooting and the montage and finish a film of 4-7 minutes in just 48 hours!
On June 22nd-23th, all movies will be shown in Ster Cinemas, Agios Eleftherios, Athens, and on June 28th the awards will be given. The film that will get the golden prize will represent Greece in Filmapalooza Film Festival in the USA, while the Cannes Festival is the suppreme goal.
