Human pain, the strength of will, poverty and happiness, the destruction of the planet and the weird of life are being printed on the awarded photographs of the 51st global contest World Press Photo 2008. They are shocking, astonishing, charming and high-pitched pictures, each of which tells a story from every corner on the earth. Starting today, 6 May and to the 2nd of June, 156 awarded works will be on display for the visitors of the Athens International Airport. The international exhibition has traveled in more than 100 cities over the world and is now for the 3rd time in Athens, presenting the best photo moments of 2007. The World Press Photo awards are the most important institution for the people of informing and journalistic photography and were first appeared in 1955. Professional photographers, agencies and magazines can participate to the contest. The exhibition will be open to the public 24 hours the day. More info at: www.worldpressphoto.org
