Tribute to Japanese culture

Nov 22, 2009 — Nov 28, 2009 • Category: Events
The Concert Hall of Athens is proposing a different approach with Japan, this mysterious country of the East, by organizing the Japanese Week from November 22nd to 28th. This is a large tribute to the modern view of Japan, whose culture is mostly concentrated on three aspects: representative arts, music and architecture. This tribute will include parallel events in various rooms of the Concert Hall. The musical group Tokyo Ensemble will give a concert, while Greek musicians will play works of Japanese musicians of the 20th and the 21st century.  Moreover, lectures will be given on the influence of the traditional Japanese music from Western sounds, on the architectural style of this country and on the representative arts that are so typical of Japan. Theatre performances, sound and light shows and pupper shows will also be given, giving to the audience the chance to get to know this foreign culture better.
