The Self-Vindication of the Cicada

May 12, 2011 — Jun 12, 2011 • Category: Events
The painter Michael Odysseus Yakoumakis will present his exhibition entitled The Self-Vindication of the Cicada at the art centre Ash in Art in Athens. Mr Yakoumakis is a symbolic painter who gets inspired by several characteristics of this era, whereas sometimes he emphasizes on the important historic periods. He only paints indoor and outdoor experiences from the daily life of the people, while he turns them into myths and symbols. His work has been evolved and developed in many ways, since 1977 when he begun to put in canvas his surrealistic visions. The current exhibition is a way to re-introduce and present to us Art as a social resource that each viewer can understand, allowing one to break the boundaries between Art and Life. The exhibition will last from May 18th until June 12th, 2011.
