Special Olympics 2011 in 5 weeks

In 5 weeks, Greece will honorably host one of the most important sporting events in the world, the Special Olympics World Summer Games 2011. This is the most significant event of a long lasting movement which was founded in 1968 by Eunice Kennedy Shriver. Just two years after the death of their founder, the Special Olympics World Games 2011 will have a special symbolism. They will take place in Athens from June 25 until July 4 2011, where 7,5000 athletes from 185 countries will compete in 22 Olympic sports. The Opening Ceremony will take place in Kallimarmaro Roman Stadium in Athens and tickets are already available for booking. The entrance to the sports events and competitions is free.
