Spanish Film Festival 2016

The magical world of the Hispanic cinematic production is coming closer to the Greek audience this summer with the launching of the Spanich Film Festival. With 13 award-winning movies from the whole network of hispanic countries, the festival will be opening its doors from the 2nd until the 8th of June in the fancy area of Gazi, in the open air cinema of Lais. The cinema is part of the famous Greek Film Archive Foundation in Athens which features a large collection of Greek and International films. The festival will be featuring movies from Mexico, Spain, Chile, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru and more.
This year, the festival will be approaching a wide thematology, ranging from romance stories which have won the hearts of the wider audience, to horror movies, to political and social problematizations. All movies have been widely acknowledged as masterpieces of the contemporary cinema production while they have won a lot of awards in various festivals across the world.
The film that will be opening the festival is “Truman” which has won 5 Goya Awards and then a small party with Sol beer and mexican food on the roof of the building will follow.
All movies are in Spanish with Greek subtitles.
