Location: Lycabettus

One of the longest-running festivals in Greece, Rockwave Festival will again be a big part of the 2024 summer in Athens! This year, a number of adrenaline-pumping concerts, part of the Rockwave Nights series, will take place at the magnificent theater of Lycabettus Hill from the 25th of June to the 1st of August!

The exciting Rockwave Nights, a smaller-size, nighttime edition of the classic Rockwave Festival, will host some of the most impressive acts around the globe, as well as highly skilled Greek performers and groups! Most notably, the recently reunited 2000s indie rock group Raining Pleasure will perform in front of the Athenian crowd on June 28th, whereas two of the finest groups in progressive rock and metal, Opeth and Leprous, will take the stage by storm with their eclectic, genre-bending riffing and all-time songs, such as Blackwater Park, The Price, Ghost of Perdition, and The Flood, on July 3rd!

In addition to these stellar acts, Greek black metal legends Rotting Christ will be performing a collection of their songs spanning through their entire catalog of over 35 years on the 29th of June, and international pop icon Mika will enchant the crowd of Rockwave Nights with his on-stage presence on July the 2nd! Plus, seasoned veterans of the groove and heavy metal scenes, Machine Head, will be a must-watch live show on the 4th of July!

Other acts of Rockwave Nights include the Lebanese violin virtuoso Ara Malikian, Giannis Aggelakas and the 100°C, domestic folk rockers Pyx Lax, punk rockers Xat Trik, revered entehno singer-songwriter Alkinoos Ioannidis, upbeat pop and world music outfit Pink Martini, and pop-soul singer Imany performing her 2021 album Voodoo Cello! Moreover, the world-famous alternative rock band Placebo will wrap up the festival on the 1st of August!

Having been a host to an array of international supergroups, such as Portishead, The Cure, Black Sabbath, Franz Ferdinand, Evanescence, Gojira, Lana Del Rey, Metallica, and Iron Maiden, this rendition of Rockwave Festival will be yet another celebration of live music!
