Release Athens 2023

Release Festival first opened its doors to music lovers in 2016. Nowadays, it is one of the major and vivid events taking place in Athens, Greece. It is organized in a unique venue called Plateia Nerou in the neighborhood of Faliro, right next to the sea. The institution's vision is to present as many musical genres as possible, to attract and satisfy all kinds of listeners. 

The COVID-19 pandemic "silenced" Plateia Nerou for two consecutive summers. Nonetheless, Release welcomed its fans again in 2022, featuring amazing performers like Slipknot, Iggy Pop, Nich Cave & the Bad Seeds, Judas Priest, and Liam Gallagher. Renowned artists who have participated in the festival include Alice in Chains, Damian Marley, Disturbed, Parov Stelar, Hozier, and Cypress Hill.

The next Release Festival will take place in June 2023. The infamous Arctic Monkeys along with The Hives, Helloween, Nightwish, and Willie J Healey, comprise this year's lineup, and hundreds of tickets have already been purchased!
