Race for the Cure 2024
The 16th annual Greece Race for the Cure is set to take place on the 29th of September 2024. One of the largest and most popular races for breast cancer awareness in Europe, Race for the Cure has brought together more than 300.000 runners throughout its history. It is organized by the Hellenic Association of Women with Breast Cancer “Alma Zois” in collaboration with the Organization of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
The event will feature a 5 km race and a 2 km walk, both starting at the historic Zappeion building in the heart of Athens. The 5 km race is set to begin at 9:30 and is the more competitive part of the event, bringing in thousands of runners looking to make an impact against breast cancer. The 2 km walk is a much more leisurely expedition, starting at 10:30 and welcoming participants of all ages on a scenic route through the beautiful city of Athens. Those not able to attend the event in person are encouraged to join digitally and support Alma Zois through social media participation.
Those interested in taking part in the event must register beforehand at Race for the Cure’s official website. The organization provides participants with a race kit, which you can collect from a designated pick-up point from the 23rd to the 27th of September.
