Images of another Europe 1985-1989 at Benaki Museum

During the period between 1985 and 1989, the Greek photographer Constantinos Pittas travelled across more than 15 European countries divided by the Wall of Berlin and captured the everyday life of the people living from both sides of the “Iron Curtain”. The material was to stay unpublished, until the artist felt that in these times, there is great need to present the commonalities of human experience and highlight the similarities that Europeans share.
