Comicdom Con Athens 2011

This well-established festival for comics is presented by the Hellenic American Union and Comicdom Press for the sixth consecutive year. At the center of interest for this year's event is the exhibition Batman: Yesterday & Tomorrow which presents four different approaches in the historical and aesthetic evolution, one of the most famous comic heroes, Batman. Some of the special guests in this festival will be the many times award-winner Chris Ware, David Prudhomme, Sonia Leong designer and illustrator, Bruno Brindisi designer of popular Italian comics and the award-winner Shaenon K. Garnity, creator of comics. Also the documentary Grant Morrison: Talking with gods will be premiered in Greece as part of the special screenings of the festival. The comic festival will last for a week (April 8 - April 15, 2011) and it will host independent guests, international artists, bazaar with new comic publications and Comicdom Awards. Finally, an integral part of the festival are the workshops for kids which will bring the public in contact with the magic world of pictorial storytelling through educational workshops.
