Athens Pride Festival

The biggest event dedicated to the LGTB community will be held again this year on the 11th of June in Athens in a public effort to raise awareness to all the social minorities who are sexually differentiated. On trying to establish their different identities, people from all kinds of alternative sexual communities, partake in this big feast of mutual support. The Greek islands and Athens as a capital have risen greatly over the last years as a gay-friendly destinations while its LGTB community is very liberated.
Every year, the pride takes place in both Thessaloniki and Athens and involves various alternative teams who dress up and celebrate in the main streets of the cities to promote the messages of equality and social respect. Apart from the performers, thousands of people of all orientations partake in this colourful event and celebrate drinking beer and dancing until late in the night. Meetings usually gather more than 20.000 attendees and like every year, the festival will be starting from Klafthmonos Square.
Meantime, many parallel events and talks compose the festival which is becoming more and more exciting every year.
