The Athens Jazz Festival is one of the longest-running music festivals in Greece. It was first organized in 2001 when Athens collaborated with the educational institutes and embassies of the European member countries in Greece and hosted the First European Jazz Festival. Ten years later, the festival branched off the Greek borders and became open to the whole continent, while in 2013, it managed to become an international institution.
Since 2001, it has hosted more than 250 bands (both domestic and international) and around 2.850 musicians from more than 25 different countries.
The Technopolis area in Gazi constitutes the hub of jazz lovers for a whole week during May. The festival features numerous trends and musicians along with activities relating to that type of music.
The institution welcomes more than 6.000 visitors of all ages annually. And the best part? The entrance is free every day for everyone!
