Athens Flying Week 2024
Athens Flying Week, the biggest air show in the eastern Mediterranean is set to return for its 12th edition on the 14th and 15th of September 2024. Seeing thousands of visitors every single year, the impressive aviation-themed event promises exciting performances, exhibitions, and a myriad of activities. This year’s event will be held at the Tanagra Airport, 66 km north of Athens.
Visitors will get to witness exhilarating takeoffs and landings from some of the most famous aircraft in the world, in addition to a spectacular airshow. Over 50 international aircraft will be featured during the two-day event, as will many flying vessels that belong to the Greek Armed Forces. Of major intrigue are the demonstrations of two French Rafale and the Romanian Antonov An-26. The Guinness World Record holder Italian Dario Costa Red Bull stands out, while favorites such as the F-16 “ZEUS” and the T-6 will also be showcased.
Hosting a large static aircraft display, Athens Flying Week gives visitors the chance to take pictures with various planes, helicopters, and pilots. What is more, they can participate in aeromodelling demonstrations, learn about the different types of aviation training from aviation schools and aeroclubs, and explore the trade fair for unique purchases. A collection of restaurants and canteens will be providing plenty of food and drink options as well as some nice shady areas to rest under.
