Athenians will have the pleasure of enjoying the combined forces of renowned Greek playwright Akis Dimou and the acclaimed director Ang Lee in a performance that should not be missed. Until the 6th of March, the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation will be hosting Dimou’s praised monologue “...and Juliet”, starring the talented Pemi Zouni.
The dramatic monologue, which was first staged more than 15 years ago, is the existential cry of Juliet, which survives not as the infamous half of Romeo, but as an abandoned unit, a shadow of what has been, reflecting on the issues of love and loss. Will Juliet manage to define herself in the absence of her beloved one?
The critically acclaimed monologue is given a whole new perspective by the unique outlook of Lee, who has won two Oscars for the films “Brokeback Mountain” and “The life of Pi”, while the 3D technology will enthuse the audience.
