8th European Jazz Festival - 28th of May to the 1st of June

The European Jazz festival, organized every year in Technopolis in the area Gazi, Athens, has become an institution for the music life of the Greek capital. Music groups from all over Europe (Slovenia, Luxemburg, Belgium, Estonia, Poland, Portugal, Denmark, Holland, Sweden, Czech Republic, Austria, Finland and Hungary) take part in the festival, while every year in charge of the organization is the Presidency Country of the European Union Council.
The festival began in 2001 with a few countries taking part, but the success and the public recognition was that big, that participation raise and the expansion of the program were permitted. All kinds of jazz music are represented at the festival and the names taking part are among the most important in this field. It will last from 28th of May to the 1st of June and the entrance is free to the public. The program will include three concerts a day.
