45th International Aegean Sailing Rally

Jul 11, 2008 — Jul 20, 2008 • Category: Events
Contestants from all over Greece and beyond gather to compete in the country's oldest and most prestigious sailing regatta, the International Aegean Sailing Rally, that takes every year place in Athens since 1964.
The event is organized by the Hellenic Offshore Racing Club (HORC) and consists of a series of three or four individual offshore races. It usually starts and finishes at Faliro Bay and takes in the beautiful islands of the Aegean. The overall distance covered varies between 250 and 400 nautical miles, depending on which islands are visited.
Once a strictly racing-only event, the rally is now a nationwide sailing festival with many glamorous events following the regatta. Big or small, from super yachts and sport-racers to classics, all vessels take part.
