2nd International Street Theatre Festival

With the logo Soul on the street, a phrase from the theatre play Vakhes by the ancient playwriter Evripides, starts the 2nd International Street Theatre Festival of Athens. After the great success of the 1st street theatre festival last year, the Municipality of Athens and Athens Cultural Organization has prepared this cultural event with the voluntary participation of many Greek and international artists, theatre groups, mimes and clowns. Artists will present their work in various spots around the historical centre of Athens. Performances will start in Kallimarmaro Roman Stadium and will be transfered in Ermou st, Kapnikareas Square, Apostolou Pavlou st, Thission, Keramikos and Agios Thomas. Each artistic group will give 3-6 performances, which means at least 60 cultural events every day. The participants perform voluntarily and performances will include dancing, singing, pantomimes, acrobatic stunts and jongleur shows. The festival will last from September 30th to October 4th.
