25 March at the Acropolis Museum with free admission

Acropolis Museum celebrates Greece’s National Independence Day, opening its doors for the public without an admission fee. On Sunday, March 25, entry will be free for all visitors, to explore the treasures exhibited in this impressive museum.
The visitors will have the opportunity to visit, apart from the permanent exhibition, two temporary exhibitions: “Eleusis. The great mysteries“ and “Treasures from the Shanghai Museum”. “Eleusis. The great mysteries” exhibition presents the most important artifacts of the ancient town of Eleusis, such as the statue of “Fleeting Persephone”, ceremonial vessels and many more. This exhibition includes a 15- minute video presentation with aerial photographs, representations, models, the archaeological site of Eleusis and many other exhibits. “Treasures from the Shanghai Museum” exhibition presents two amazing exhibits from the Shanghai Museum: the bronze pan of Zi Zhohg Jiang and the hand scroll painting “Travelling along the Clear River”.
Visiting Acropolis Museum on 25th of March will also give you a taste of traditional Greek cuisine, as the Museum’s restaurant will serve a “Greek Traditional Meal” on this day. Find more info here: www.theacropolismuseum.gr
