23rd Panorama of European Cinema

This year, the 23rd Panorama of European Cinema, the largest international film festival in Athens, will take place from October 21st to 31st. More than 100 films from Europe and the other continents will be presented in Apollon Cinemax Class, Trianon Filmcenter and Mihalis Kakogiannis Foundation. The official premiere of the festival will be on October 21st with the Turkish film Bal by Semih Kaplanoglu, which was awarded the Golden Bear at the 60th Berlin International Film Festival. In fact, the director will be present at the screening of his film. Many important personalities will take part in this panorama, including the directors Jersy Skolimowski (Essential Killing), Otar Iosseliani (Chantrapas) and Emir Kusturica with the actress Valerie Golino. For their contribution in the art of cinema, special awards will be given to directors and actors. Among the films to compete will be: - Strange Case of Angelica, by Manoel de Oliveira - Les petits ruisseaux, by Pascal Rabate - Over Your Cities Grass Will Grow, by Sophie Fiennes - The Man Who Will Come, by Giorgio Diritti - When We Leave, by Feo Aladag - The Rebellion of Red Maria, by Kostas Zappas The festival is organized for the second time by the Municipality of Athens.
