This was a nice trip, well-organized, good hotels, fantastic places. I loved that I visited all these legendary spots in Greece, like Mycenae, Epidaurus, Olympia, Delphi and Meteora. I had read a lot and seen many photos of these places, so I was glad that I got to see them myself. Meteora and Delphi were my favorite, Nafplion was also a nice town with lots of history. Staff at the hotels and the bus were truly helpful and the guide too much informed about every spot we were passing by. Nice trip overall, thank you!

Category: Athens T13 Four Days Classical Tour With Meteora

Hello again! We are a couple from Belgium that spent our autumn holidays in Greece. Yes... autumn and Greece do not much with the tourist idea of Greece that many people have, but we had some friends waiting for us in Athens, so we thought... yeah why not see a bit of the mainland, too!

Anyway! We got our Greek friends and here we go! All in one, I am very satisfied from the tour, good organization, no delays, nice ambiance, very good guide. Best part of the tour was definitely Meteora, at least for me. (My husband liked Delphi village more, because of the good food and restaurants I bet!). For me, Meteora was a magical place, covered in an aura of peace and serenity. Even if you are not a Christian, I suggest you visit the monasteries and the small caves there. Some monks were very friendly, and tried to show us the place, even if they couldn't speak good English!

Four days around Greece with all the comforts and all the good things that Greece can give you. After 4 years in the islands, it was time that we knew the mainland of the country. Nafplion and Epidaurus were gorgeous, it is just a pity that we didn't stop on the way to swim, but I understand the lack of time. The hotel in Olympia was very modern but we couldn't find the control for the air-conditioning, so we slept with blankets in the middle of the summer. Didn't mind at all, nice experience and I had missed blankets! Meteora is definetely a place to see at least once in a lifetime. I think this was the top of the tour.

We decided last minute to take this tour. In general, the whole trip to Greece was last minute so we didn't have much time to look for hotels and car rentals. I am just glad that we found this convenient tour and that we saw all these beautiful places. Meteora and Olympia were my favourite, Nafplion was also lovely but I had been there again two years ago. The hotels were perfect and the dinners were delicious, too. I also liked that we stopped in a couple of small taverns on the way to have lunch. Generally this tour was a nice experience and I would be glad to take it again. Now that I know how organized things are with this company, I have no doubt to recommend it to others.

What else can someone want from a tour in Greek mainland? We are still excited about it, even 2 weeks after the tour, and back to our normal life and work.

So many places, so many information, so much history and pictures in my head. I will try to make a fast rewind, mostly about the "hidden" joys of the tour and not the actual sightseeing, which as you can imagine it was a dreamy journey to the past.

So! Once in Corinth Canal and after you take your pictures of course, do not miss souvlaki before continuing your trip! Was so delicious.. I only regret I didn't buy 2!

In Naflpio we found a great taverna with live Greek music. The place was a bit hidden, at a narrow behind the main square. So, do not stay at the square waiting to be picked up! The place was too traditional. Music was too weird to my ears, but I enjoyed it. Taverna's red wine was amazing!

Another "hidden" beauty is Arachova. You will make a stop, on your way to Meteora. Apart from the village being beautiful, with traditional rocky buildings, there are many warm and cozy cafes. Chocolate pie is more than recommended!

On our way back to Athens, I liked our stop to the statue of Leonidas, but I also feel a bit sad about it. Such an important monument, of such a great man, being there in the middle of nowhere. I know that this is the actual place that it happened, so it cannot be moved, or maybe Leonidas likes that, who knows... just my thoughts.

Hello to you all in Greeka!
Thought to stop by and say hi and thank you for the great time we had at that tour, in the middle of September. I am even thinking to book your 7day tour on my next visit, as 4 days were not enough! Well, Greece is never enough I guess!
Nafplio was so sweet, so colorful, so beautiful! Unfortunately we didn't have the time to take the boat to that small island with the castle, but well, that's a good reason to go back, uh?
Mycenae, Olympia, Delphi: what can I say about these great historical places. From these 3, I preferred Olympia, but maybe that's because of my passion in sports. Meteora mountains, caves and the view was a great experience. Not to mention the cool, refreshing wind up there, considering the heat that Greece always has these months.
I had no problem with the organization either. Hotels were modern, the bus was air-conditioned and the dinners were delicious. Some offered buffet dinners but that's better for me because you get more variety.
I won't say bye!, Will see you soon in 2010!

I took the 4-day classical tour with a visit to Meteora last October and it was a nice experience. I had read about it in a brochure and thought it would be interesting to take it, since I did not want to rent a car and go on my own. We went by bus actually and the trip was pretty comfortable. There were adequate refreshment stops on the way and the guide was very friendly. She was a nice middle-aged woman, always smiling and giving comprehensive and clear explanations of the areas we visited. What I only have to mention is that the accommodation was on the outskirts of the town. I would prefer it if we stayed in a hotel within the town limits so that we can explore it. After all, we would stay only for one night in each place, so we couldn’t have many opportunities to visit these Greek cities.

I joined the Four Days Classical Tour with Meteora, Greece, it was a trip I found very interesting when I was first informed about it. Actually, it was my daughter who talked to me about it and recommended it with much enthusiasm! It was a comfortable trip, no delays or difficulties. What I mostly enjoyed was the drive along the coast and of course, Acropolis. I was also impressed by the driver’s ski driving skills, while heading to Meteora! Regarding our tour guide, he was very knowledgeable and he made Greek mythology very interesting through his descriptive way, he made it all very attractive and authentic. What I found a little annoying was the wasting of much time picking up other passengers, because the rest of us were obliged to wait…My overall opinion on the tour, however, was pretty good, especially if interested in mythology and ancient Greece.

The 4-day tour to Meteora was fine but quite tiring. The destination was too far and therefore sometimes the trip could get exhausted, especially for older people. However, it is worth to take it. You will see beautiful monasteries, amazing ancient sites and impressive sceneries. The trip with the bus is OK if you do not mind traveling.

Hi, I'm from America, I've visited up to 5 countries and in the summer of 2006 I visited Meteora in Greece.
I read about a tour to Meteora on a brochure, and I decided to go. We left at 9:00 in the morning on a bus, from an easy point to find, but some people were late so we were delayed. I must say that the welcome we received was not really warm.
The trip was comfortable, and I liked the ambiance of it, even though it was very crowded.
We had a guide who explained everything quite clear in English and some of my questions were answered. All of the staff was polite and professional.
We viewed the sights of ancient Greece and I enjoyed that the most.
The tour lasted for 4 days.
It was very interesting and I think it would be also interesting for children. Also the value of money was good, but one thing I would recommend is to have smaller groups.
