Balthazar is a well-decorated restaurant, situated in a renovated Neoclassical building in one of the best locations downtown Athens. The interior decoration is stylish and warm with authentic painted tiles and colored lanterns and it is surrounded by a charming garden covered with large date palms that are always buzzing during the summer months.
Balthazar Restaurant has been carefully divided into two sections. While the front section is a happening place, the inner half is a quiet high-end restaurant. Yiorgos Tsiaktsiras, a young and talented chef who runs the kitchen, knows how to make an attractive and comprehensive menu in order to satisfy the customers.
It is worth mentioning the chicken couscous with orange sauce, one of their creative appetizers or the East-meets-West dishes, such as the duck with red wine sauce, chestnuts, and wild rice. The restaurant offers a large selection of wines to accompany your dishes. The music is low in the restaurant area while in the bar area the rhythm gets stronger.
