Athens Pountazeza beach

General information

The bay of Pountazeza is located near the area of Kato Posidonia, close to Cape Sounio and the Port of Lavrio.
It can easily be approached by car.

It is a sand and shingle beach and in some spots there are trees offering natural protection from the sun.
The largest part of the beach is unorganized, although there is a beachfront snack-bar that provides sun umbrellas and sun loungers on the seashore.

Many archeological findings have been discovered in the area and it is believed that the remnants of an ancient settlement lie beneath the sea.
