Many
succulent local products can be found in Pelion; colourful
flowers, incredible quantities of various curative herbs and teas,
amazing traditional hand-made Pelion sweets, fine pure
olive oil, strong vinegar with local herbs, golden,
thick honey as well as sweet local wines and fruit liquors.
The typical Peliot specialities that everyone must taste
is white been soup, cheese-bread called “tyropsomo”,
cabbage leaves stuffed with minced meat called “lahanodolmades”,
excellent pies with meat or vegetables, spicy mixes
of sausages and meat called “spetzofai”, rabbit and
wild boar.
