I discovered Pelion through internet search and I made an email reservation in the hotel we stayed at in Kato Gatzea. We had never been to the Pelion area before. Going south from Volos the landscape gets better and better. Kato Gatzea is a small village with many tavernas and our hotel was at its southern end, right by the beach. We found one of the best beaches there, along with those of Papa Nero and Milopotamos. Kato Gatzea is a perfect base camp for exploration of Pelion. The apartments were in perfect shape and the local beach is right there for everyday swim. We visited the villages of Milies, Tzagarada, Chorton, which were very picturesque and you shouldn't miss them. As for the prices, they were very reasonable in all the places we went to.
