The city of Volos is situated at the foot of the peninsula of Pelion at the centre of Greece. It is a coastal town of great interest. The city has a population of 71.000 inhabitants and is the politic and economical centre of the prefecture.
The town of Volos is a pleasant town. It is situated at the foot of the Mont Pelion and the traditional villages of Pelion can be seen perched on the mountains.
