The complex was built in 1989 by its owner, an architect. It stands on the site of an old olive press which belonged to the owner's family, in the centre of Horefto, 20 metres from the sea. The original philosophy underlying the design of the complex was to construct dwellings for 2 to 5 individuals - simple, functional and built to high aesthetic standards - which would give the visitor the sense that he is not staying in a conventional hotel but rather in a more intimate setting, hospitable and designed with its own individual sense of aesthetics.

During the summer you can go to the famous beaches of Milopotamos and Fakistras, with their blue crystal waters, or enjoy long walks around scenes of nature with running streams and arched bridges. Diakoumis consists of 15 rooms, studios and apartments.
