Description: Meteora is mostly famous for its Monasteries. They are all built by hermits on top of huge rocks. Only 5 Monasteries are open to the public today. The most famous are Saint Stephanos and the Monastery of Grand Meteoron.

Description: Kalambaka is a lovely, modern town right beneath the rocks of Meteora. It has developed a lot over the last years as offers visitors many things to do.

Location:
Near Kalampaka town
Description: Antichassia is a beautiful area with lush greenery and rare species of flora and fauna. It covers an area of 830 hectares.

:: Plastira Lake

Location: About an hour drive from Meteora
Description: Lake Plastira is an artificial lake, created to collect water for the close farms. It gives many picturesque natural views and is a truly romantic destination.

:: Trikala town

Location: 20 km east of Meteora
Description: Trikala is the capital of the prefecture of Trikala. It is a modern, beautiful town with a lot of historical sites to see. The central square with pedestrian streets and fountains is one of the best in Greece.

:: Ski Centre of Pertouli

Location: About 25 km from Meteora
Description: The Ski Centre of Pertouli is placed at an altitude of 1,350 m. It operates since 1985 and has three tracks of various level of difficulty. It is very popular in Greece and many beautiful villages can be visited nearby.

:: Bridge of Agios Vissarionas

Location: About 30 km from Meteora
Description: This one-arched bridge was built to connect the villages of the area and was originally built in 1514 with the initiative of bishop Vissarion. Today it gives a beautiful site in a place of natural beauty.
