Thessaly Beaches

Information about the Beaches in Thessaly, in Greece but also information about beaches in many locations of the region: The prefecture of Thessaly is located in Northern Greece, between Macedonia and Sterea. Although this region is mostly mountainous and flat, the border of the eastern coast with the Aegean Sea and give nice sandy beaches, ideal for relaxing summer holidays.

The most popular Thessaly beaches are located on the eastern coasts of Mount Pelion, on the side of the Aegean Sea. Mylopotamos, Papa Nero, Agios Ioannis, Fakistra and Mourtias are few of the amazing beaches in eastern Pelion. The inner side of Pelion, at the Pagasetic Gulf, also gets popular in summer but doesn’t have as impressive beaches as the exterior side.

Other lovely beaches in Thessaly can be found a little northern from Pelion, on the coastline of Larissa, particularly the beach of Agiokampos. As these beaches are open to the Aegean, they are pretty deep and occasionally they are affected by strong winds.
