In addition, on this part there are also some ruins of a church of the mid-Byzantine period.
These were discovered in an excavation performed during1980 and 1981 north of Prophet Elias church.

We can also mention the monastery of Agios Ioannis Prodromos in Vomvokou –10 km from Nafpaktos-, the monastery of Metamorfosi Sotiros –meaning ‘Transfiguration of the Saviour’- in the area of Skala in Nafpaktia;
