Although the house was actually destroyed by a blow-up, during 1996 and 1997 a new one was built nearby, which off course is very modest, but holds the possessions and remains of this poet and benefactor.

One of them is the “Ypapanti”, on February 2nd. Regarding the architecture of this place, it hosts a beautiful Byzantine church, whose cells are used for these celebrations. |

The use of the dome is a remaining from the Roman style, which was then developed by Byzantine architects, and provides an impressive touch to the constructions.
Those who visit this building can get to the inside and see the exhibits of pictures, scripts, as well as the personal and domestic artefacts of the poet Palamas. Finally, there is another interesting example, although it is related to other type of architecture.
We are talking about the arch stone bridge that connects Mesolongi to the small island of Aetoliko, near the salt-lake of Mesolongi –the biggest in Greece. It is 300 metres long and was built in 1898. |
