A small, mountainous town in Sterea (Central Greece), Arachova belongs to the prefecture of Boeotia. It is built amphitheatrically on the slopes of Mount Parnassus, at an altitude of 960 metres.

Close to Arachova, there is also a cave with rich stalactites and stalagmites. It is called Corykion Andron, or Sarantavli, and it is about 10 km from the town, reachable through a trekking path that passes by beutiful sceneries and small villages.

The most famous villages around Arachova are Agoriani and Zemeno, that also gradually develop as tourist places.

Three ski centres are situated north of Arachova: Gerontovrahos (17 km), Kellaria (23 km) and Fterolakka (26 km). These centres get very popular in winter.
